Far more illustrious blogs than this one are reacting to and discussing the 2016 Hugo award nominations (which, much like your taxes, are for work done in 2015). I’ll provide a roundup of a few interesting ones below, but here’s my own personal reaction: I’m mostly just kinda bummed out that so many excellent podcasts, related works, and short stories were overlooked in favor of what can only be described as a garbage fire. (If people were prone to setting garbage fires in their own living rooms, at any rate.)
But I don’t want to concentrate on the garbage fire. Instead, I’d like to focus on some of my favorite things from my ballot. I’ll post those in the next few weeks as often as I can manage, and then I’ll try to switch to good stuff I’ve found so far this year. There’s so much good stuff out there–I’d rather spend time promoting the good instead of dwelling on the … other things.
So please keep an eye out for that, and if you want to do the same on your blog/Twitter/etc., I’d love to see it. (Too bad #hiddenhugotreasure is too long for a hash tag.)

FINAL WORD
I'll remind folks that THE GEEK FEMINIST REVOLUTION came out of last year's Hugo thing. So… what will you all sell this year cause of it?
